Abilities in Action
Scope of Services
Abilities in Action Provides services to transition age youth and adult consumers who are eligible for and referred by OOD- Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. To be eligible for Abilities in Action, a consumer must:
1. Be 14 years of age or older. There is no ceiling age limit for entrance into the program. And…
2. Need no assistance taking medication. Abilities in Action does not directly provide assistance with prescribing, dispensing, administering or physical control of medications self-administered.
3. Have medical approval to work
Abilities in Action provides services in a variety of community-based locations. Planning meetings and preliminary training will occur in an accessible location in the community close to the consumer (such locations as libraries and restaurants are often used). Career exploration and work adjustment services are provided “hands-on” in actual work settings. Since Abilities in Action focuses on person centered placements, individualized sites used will be based on the consumer’s skills and interests.
Days and Hours of Service
Typical office hours of Abilities in Action are Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, but employment related coaching services can occur as scheduled on any day and any shift.
